Half of businesses "lacking" website building skills

A new study has found that whilst many businesses are showing an interest in setting up a web presence, nearly half are putting off creating one as they lack the skills to create their own website.

Research carried out by Amenworld.com found that 49 per cent of businesses who would like to have an online presence were putting it off out of worries of the complexity of creating a professional website.

Andrew Fassnidge from Amenworld.com told ComputerWorldUK - "The value of internet sales is set to double in the next five years, but too many businesses are put off selling online by the perceived complexity and expense of online shops."

However, Mr Fassnidge made clear that these businesses are likely to be missing out on improved sales figures and customer loyalty.

"Setting up an e-shop instantly opens companies up to an international market, so overseas trading becomes a reality for small businesses," he said.

Businesses who feel this way about giving themselves an online presence could find that a website would be within their capabilities by making use of the knowledge of a professional web design company.
